[gelöst] PPC automatische Bildschirmerkennung

Hallo,

als Debian-Neuling eine vielleicht doofe Frage.
Ich habe Debian auf einem PowerPC installiert. Nach der Installation bekomme ich keine Möglichkeit, die Bildschirmauflösung anzupassen. Angeschlossen ist ein 19``wide screen (1440x900). Debian gibt aber nur ein 800x600 vor und bietet keine Alternative.
Wie kann ich von diesem Halbblindenmodus auf normale Auflösung umschalten?

Vieleicht musst du in /etc/X11/xorg.conf die Auflösung selber einstellen.

sowas hab ich auch schon gefunden. Wenn ich die Datei im Editor aufmache, ist sie leer. ????? Was tun? Im Terminal habe ich den Weg dahin noch nicht gefunden. Sorry - Newbee

und dann gedit

terminal => su <passwort>

dann kannst du via "Öffnen" die datei editieren

Aber nicht vergessen:

Bin im Terminal jetzt weiter gekommen. Habe die Datei gefunden. Mit "edit xorg.conf" lässt sich die Datei nicht öffnen (irgend ein mime-Fehler. Mit "view xorg.conf" kann ich mir die Datei ansehen. LEER! kann man da etwas reinschreiben?? Was???

Auf meinem notebook läuft ubuntu.

das war alles! 800x600 gibts nirgends. Außerdem hab ich mir die Oberfläche jetzt zerschossen, weil ich die Daten aus der xconf vom notebook einfach mal in die xconf bei debian eingetragen haben. VERZWEIFLUNG! :keineahnung:

Die xorg.conf wird ab lenny nicht mehr benötigt, da steht nichts drin. (Debian-Handbuch)

In Deinem Fall:

1. Debian starten
2. STRG ALT F1
3. login u. dann root werden
4. nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf
5. alles rauslöschen u. abspeichern
6. STRG ALT F7

Jetzt müßte zumindest die Auflösung mit 800 x 600 wieder funktionieren.

was ist denn das für ein unsinn. wollen die sich komplett auf die automatische erkennung verlassen oder was?

am besten ist, du postest erst einmal deine /var/log/Xorg.0.log

damit man mal schauen kann, wie weit die automatische erkennung läuft.
als nächstes könntest du mal schauen, ob die programme
xorgsetup
oder
xorgconfig
installiert sind. mit denen kann man benutzergeführt eine xorg.conf erstellen.

Diese Auflösungen sind dann unabhängig von automatischer Erkennung. Wird die Hardware geändert, wird trotzdem versucht diese Einstellungen zu laden und wenn es keine geht, kann das bedeuten, dass der Xserver gar nicht startet. In vielen Fällen jedoch ist das so gewünscht, da man auch bei dynamischer Konfiguration meist sowieso bei jedem wechsel der Hardware von vorn beginnen muss.

bei den breitbildschirmen ist das problem, dass viele grafikkarten keine entsprechende auflösung im vesa-bios haben, sodass man in der monitor-section zwingend eine modeline eintragen muss. ich nehme mal an, dass deshalb auch die automatik versagt.

Ich muss mich selbst korrigieren: Ich habe "Strg+NummernBlockPlus/-Minus" geschrieben, aber es braucht noch Alt. Also "Strg+Alt+NummernBlockPlus/-Minus" ist richtig.

uiiiihh, ppc hatte ich ganz überlesen, die grafikkarte hat also überhaupt kein vase-bios. du hast damit das selbe problem wie marcus_cheers, schau mal hier Hilfe bei xorg.conf und damit auch die selbe lösung. Ändere deine /etc(X11/xorg.conf wie folgt ab

meine modeline ist erst einmal einschuss ins blaue, aber dein monitor sollte ja 60hz unterstützen und dashalb müsste sie funktionieren. die syncronsignalflags +hsync und +vsync habe ich erst einmal aus der Xorg.o.log übernommen, da ich den monitor nicht kenne.
vielleicht kannst du zum monitor ja was genaueres sagen, videobandbreite, horizontal und vertikalsynchronfrequenzzen wären interessant. sollte der bildschirm mit der xorg.conf funktionieren, dann kannst du ja auch xvidtune benutzen um sie genauer anzupassen.

also,
mache dir von der jetzigen (schlecht) funktionierenden xorg.conf eine kopie, ändere sie wie beschrieben ab und starte dein X system neu.
