Ich habe gestrern m al tovid ausprobiert. Ist zwar für die Konsole, aber dabei ziemlich simpel. Vor allen Dingen sind die Ergebnisse hervoragend.
Bei mir war es eine Xvid in DVD Konvertierung. Man sollte es dabei einfach halten.
So z.B. die Ausgangsdatei, mit einem kurzen Dateinamen, ins /home/Username/ Verzeichnis hinterlegen.
Die Anwendung dann z.B. so ausführen:
cd /home/username/
tovid -in xyz.avi -out xyz -dvd -pal
Hier ein Auszug aus der Konsole:

Example:
tovid -in foo.avi -out foo_encoded
Convert 'foo.avi' with default options (NTSC DVD), putting the
encoded video in 'foo_encoded.mpg'.

Ach so und mit manDVD kann man dann die DVD erstellen.
