also ich muss euch nochmals nerven. Mittlerweile läuft mein Mandrake recht gut, und ich glaube mich auch schon ein bisschen zurecht zufinden. Aber nichts desto trotz, das mit dem nVidia Linux-Treiber funktioniert immer noch nicht. Ich hab mir den GLX-Treiber und den Kernel-Treiber für's
Mandrake 9.0 als RPM-Package geholt und installiert. Zuerst sah es ja ganz gut aus, aber als ich den Rechner dan neu gestartet habe hatte ich das selbe Problem wieder. Meine Grafische Oberfläche hat nicht mehr funktioniert. Diesmal hab ich aber nicht aufgegeben, und ich hab es wenigstens geschafft alles wieder in Ursprungszustand (vor der Treiberinstallation) zu versetzen. Nun meine Frage was mach ich falsch??!

Ich hol mir die Treiber:

Nvidia GLX1.0-4191.i386.rpm
+
Nividia kernel-1.0-4191.mdk90up.i586.rmp

diese installiere ich dann, danach sollte es doch eigentlich funktionieren. Tut es aber nicht ich kann die grafische Oberfläche nicht mehr starten, und es ist mir nach wie vor nicht möglich die Auflösung zu ändern. Momentan habe ich die Auflösung 1280*1024 auf nem 17 Zoll Monitor. Das geht zwar aber irgenwie ist das alles zu winzig.
Sorry, wenn ich mich ein bisschen dumm anstelle aber ich bin wirklich ziemlicher Anfänger, und teste alles nur aus, aber ich möchte halt nur einfach weg von dem elenden Windooof. Aber irgendwie will's einfach nicht klappen.

Ne XF86Config & ne XF86Config-4

Als ich letzten's wieder rumprobiert habe, und mir die grafische Oberfläche wieder abgeschmiert ist, hab ich diese zwei Dateien durch die jeweilige *.old Datei aus dem Verzeichnis /etc/XF11/XF86Config.old & XF86Config-4.old ersetzt, und die grafische Oberfläche lief wieder. Mein Problem ist nur das ich die zwei *.old Dateien nicht mehr habe, die hab ich bei meinen ersten Gehversuchen in der Konsole wohl gelöscht.

Sollte sich jemand die Mühe gemacht haben dies alles zu lesen, oder mir zu helfen, möchte ich mich schon gleich mal bedanken. Vielleicht kann mir ja jemand mal erklären was die einzelnen Sectionen hier bewirken, oder ob man hier auch diverse Einstellungen von Hand machen kann. Es würde mir auch schon genügen, wenn ich einfach nur die Auflösung von 1280*1024 auf 1024*768 runterschrauben könnte. 3D-Games auf Linux zu zocken ist glaub ich eh nicht so ratsam. Aber eigentlich hab ich mir ja ne Geforce 4 4200 Ti zugelegt nur aus dem einen Grund, weil sie angeblich voll von Linux unterstüzt wird.
